Crazy and Busy and a Few Funny Stories :)

Good afternoon!!

It has still been super rainy, I need to take some pictures for y'all, the lake by our house is soooo high the whole park which had pavilions and tables are now underwater.... so crazy!!! It's pretty humid but not too hot!!

So Wes is doing great!! Wow it is so amazing to see how he has changed! We had a couple lessons with him last week and at one he basically explained the restoration to us and as we taught and talked about different things he said hmmm that might have been something that was lost in the apostasy that other church's don't understand, YES I said I was dying seriously the whole time Sister B was just laughing at me because I guess I just looked dumb because I was just too excited!! He just finished reading 1 Nephi that just shows to me once again that reading the Book of Mormon and praying sincerely can totally help us gain a testimony and strengthen our testimonies. He used to have so many random weird questions and concerns, but now he just is going with it and is excited for his baptism!! Weird/funny story, did I tell you about him asking about his baptism?? He was like so what will it be like? What will I wear? Do I just wear my swim trunks? The Parmas who we were having the lesson at said, no you will wear white but we have those clothes provided for you so no worries! He was all, ok good because I don't want to be surprised because once I went to this water park at Walt Disney world and I don't know if it was European day because everyone was wearing speedos... we were laughing so hard and told him he didn't need to worry about that at all!! He is too funny you just have to meet him and hear the way he talks he cracks me up daily!!!

We also saw George this week and ok wow so we gave him a plan of salvation pamphlet the time before and when we saw him he had read the whole thing!! (they never do that!) And he said I haven't really heard that before but I really like it. I believe that it is true. Ok booya!! So we talk about it all, he loves it and we teach the word of wisdom and he says that he will live it, he believes in it, and then he says to us, I know when I want to be baptized! The first day of summer! So next month it is:) He went to the YSA ward on sunday which was good we think so even though we want to teach him we are trying to get him to the YSA if that is where he would like to go, whatever is best for him! But I will have to ask for permission to be at his baptism love him!!! He also came to a baptism on Saturday evening and really enjoyed it:)

The J's also came to the baptism on Saturday and really liked it!! Sophie would have gotten dressed and baptized too if she could I bet, she is so ready!! But Bill he just is very intellectual and all that, buttttt it was awesome because he thought it was interesting that the baptism was on one day and that receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost was the next day and that they were two ordinances, he thought when you were baptized that you just got the Holy Ghost. We told him to read in Acts 8 how Philip is in Samaria ministering and baptizes the people but then Peter and John come to give the Holy Ghost because they have the authority to do that. Anywho the Pratts drove with them to the baptism and so they talked the whole way home and he texted Bro Pratt after he read in Acts and said "once again the Mormon religion has shed some light on the proper baptism of water and spirit" I think he realizes that he hasn't had that now and so yay!! Before he just always thought his baptism was valid so that was really cool! Oh and 5 minutes before the baptism the elders asked if I would play the piano... so I did and I think it went ok so my hard work is starting to come to use!!!!

So once again I am just so excited at how much this area has changed it is so great we are busy!!! Tonight we are so busy and tomorrow we have a big meeting with the whole mission about the Ipads and then we will get them next week!! It's gonna be cray with everyone there but wanna know something cool? I'm a great great grandma!! Because Sis Tuna trained Sis Loomis and she trained Sis Savage and now Sis Savage is training Sis Nye so I am an old granny!!! So cool though my line rocks!!haha oh btw Sister Simbeck in my zone knows Bryton he served in her ward!! So I met her on transfer day and she said the moment she met me she knew I was his cousin because he told her to look for me and she said you both are the same, so happy and smiley!! You'll have to tell Bryton:) I love the root beer gang:) We have an awesome family:) Ok and another funny story so we had dinner at the M's home a member in the 1st ward and first off how can I explain this... so 2 weeks ago on Sunday this kid in our ward just comes up to me and is talking to me and is standing sooo close it was weird and asking me my first name and all these questions and I'm just laughing and I ask how old he is and he's 14 and he's acting like he's 18 so weird hahahah anyway we were at his house for dinner but he was trying to be all cool the whole time but Sis B and I are just dying because literally he is a baby and it was just funny but his little sister wouldn't eat her food and Sis M says, she is a picky eater, she only likes breads and sweets and the 7yr brother says "carbs" hahah like how does he know??!! Too funny of a family! I can't even handle seeing them especially the 14yr old he loves me! haha just kidding but really, I need your help Syd!! ha

Another cool story so we are going through our area books because we are going to have to put all the info into our Ipads and get rid of all our papers so we are organizing and we are going through some old progress records which are just used to take into ward council to show who we are working with and what help they need so not lots of info and we see this name Jackie and haven't seen it on any teaching records or anywhere but write it down to try and see her, go there, she invites us in, her grandma gives us food, she wants the BoM and wants to come to church on Sunday!!!!! She was like you've got me really interested now!! Soo cool!!:)

Sorry this is all jumbled and random, haha but anywho yesterday we had pday we get a call in the morning from the elders saying bring some board games from the Pratts house for pday at the church ugh I was like really that's what we are going to do, I need to be active!!! We brought them and then some people were playing bball like real bball so Sis B and I played hahha maybe the elders didn't like that Idk but it was soooooo fun!!! I think I did ok hahah but I'm sore today!! So fun!!! and this morning we saw Sis W the crazy lady that I actually love so much!! When we left she was like I love your skirt and necklace, you two are so cute when you go to BYU you will just get picked right up by those boys, we're like oh no, thanks for being so sweet haha and as we are walking away she yells "nice knowing you while you were single!!" hahaha what a hoot!! But a couple weeks ago when we saw her we explained that the reason why we come to see her is to help her go to the temple, she's been before but not for years and today as we talked about that again she told us that when we brought that up that it tempted her to want to start doing all the things to be worthy to go! Just to hear her say that meant a lot and is a big change for her and though she isn't doing everything now, I think the desire is there and when we left she just said the sweetest prayer and she'll never pray!! It was just really neat:) It's been crazy and busy but so much fun here!!

Sorry I can't think of all the funny stories when I come to the library but I tried to this week!! I love y'all so much!!

Hurrah for Israel!!

We Have To Do All We Can To Be Able To Follow the Promptings

Hi!

So I'm sorry that I didn't tell you I wouldn't be emailing on Monday!! So before I forget I will be emailing on Tuesday next week because of the holiday! And today we went to the temple! That was really really awesome some ladies in the ward took sis benson and I, and sis benson hasn't been since she's been on her mission yet so that was good too:)

At the temple!
It's been a good crazy week!! We saw Wes a few times and he is preparing to be baptized on the 6th we are so excited! He said that he doesn't crave coffee anymore and it is completely taken out of his diet!!! He said he feels so much better! He has changed so much it's so great! He came to our mission president's fireside which was perfect! We saw him yesterday and will see him again tomorrow. Yesterday I had to teach the lesson myself at the Webbs home because sis benson was feeling so sick so she stayed at home with sis pratt, it was a good lesson though he really has a true desire which before he didn't really!!

The Johnsons came to stake conference on Sunday and it was really good and they like it a lot, lots of the meeting was about family and temples and family history work, they asked the pratts lots of questions about the temple afterward and they just loved it, we are going to see them tonight at the birds home who are both converts and I think their testimonies will be so powerful for them:) They are literally right there! They just need to act, Bill just wants to read all the bible and the doctrine covenants and every single thing before he makes a decision ahh but I guess that's not a bad thing haha:)
My companion taking a selfie!   hahaha   Love her!
George came to church Sunday as well and to the fireside that evening! If you don't remember he is the one we met on the doorstep and he said he would be baptized!!:) We are trying to get him to the ysa but I don't know the elders are being weird so we just brought him with us! He is so solid!! When I'm talking to him I'm just dying he said he wants to be baptized, no ifs, ands or buts and he is studying the Book of Mormon!! Hopefully we will see him tomorrow!!

During interviews with president yesterday he asked why do you think Flower Mound has progressed so much? And all I can say is that this is the Lord's work he knows who is prepared and we just have to do all we can to be able to follow the promptings of the spirit!! It really is so cool to see how much this area has changed in these 2 months!!

Oh also crazy story we are sleeping every night at a former investigators house this week... sounds like it wouldn't be allowed haha but we got permission. We went to go visit this couple as we were going through the formers and Bob said that his wife had just gotten out of the hospital so keep her in our prayers so we said ok can we do any service for y'all? Anywho a couple days later sister pratt (she's friends with this couple) calls us and asks if we would be willing to stay at their house because Bob was going to be gone all week on business and Carol doesn't feel comfortable being alone after her injury so we got permission and yeah pretty crazy, they stopped investigating the church a year ago, they felt pressured, but he is on the board for Boy Scouts of America and is like bffs with the young mens general presidency and has had lunch with all different apostles through his job and has been to general conference 3x!! Unreal, so we invited Carol to join us as we had comp study in the morning haha and we talk about what we do everyday and hopefully we can start teaching her again that would be awesome!! She is so sweet and making us huge breakfasts every morning!!
My cute little bed I'm sleeping on this week :)
I really love this, President Kimball said: “I find that when I get casual in my relationships with divinity and when it seems that no divine ear is listening and no divine voice is speaking, that I am far, far away. If I immerse myself in the scriptures, the distance narrows and the spirituality returns.”
I absolutely love the scriptures they bring such peace and guidance they really help me receive answers and it's even better when they help those we work with and you can see them change:) There is power when we teach true doctrine. In Alma 31 when Alma is trying to help the apostate Zoramites he says in vs. 5 And now, as the preaching of the word had a great tendency to lead the people to do that which was just—yea, it had had more powerful effect upon the minds of the people than the sword, or anything else, which had happened unto them—therefore Alma thought it was expedient that they should try the virtue of the word of God. That stood out to me so much, the word of God is more powerful than the sword or whatever things there may be in the world. So that is my goal to teach more effectively from the scriptures and teach simply the doctrine of the gospel of Jesus Christ, that is what will help people change their desires and beliefs and help them progress!!!

Ok I love y'all have a great week!!

Hurrah for Israel!!

It Is Truly Amazing!

Howdy howdy!! It was awesome talking to y'all yesterday!! I hope that you had a great rest of your mothers day mom!! And happy birthday as well!! I'm glad that you got my gift:) I hope syddo and kelso got it too:) I'm so grateful for moms and especially my mom!! You are the best! I love you so much you are the greatest friend, and most faithful writer:) Love you!!!
Two of my favorite people!  Loved seeing the Nielsons!
So I just talked to y'all so I can't think of much to say but that bill, sophie and wes all came to church yesterday!!!! Yay happy mothers day for real!! And I got a rose and chocolate even though I'm not a mom:) That was really exciting that they all came and they liked it and we have appointments to see them this week!!:) We had dinner at the Mays. We had baked potatoes and steak, they have the same truck as us... same color but year 1966 so crazy I was dying when I saw it, it looks almost the exact same but ours is cuter:)

Zone P-Day -- I Won!!
We are very excited to get ipads! It's so amazing that we will have that opportunity! All the members talk about how on their mission they would carry around their little slide show thingy haha we have so many tools to help us hasten the work of salvation!! Yesterday we taught the gospel principles class and we were on the chapter about Jesus Christs church in these days, we teach that like everyday so it worked out nicely haha but I am so grateful for the restoration of the gospel as I pondered on all things that led to it such as the reformation and all the things that have come from it, it truly is amazing! We have the Book of Mormon and the priesthood to perform all the saving ordinances, we can do work for those who have passed on, we have the knowledge of the plan of salvation, we can be with our families forever! Its endless!!! I love it!! Love you!!

They Call Us Mortal Angels :)

Morning!!!

Sounds like y'all had a busy week as always but good!! This week was busy for us as well and not as tiring:) Thanks for the package mom!! Just being on my mission I have never been more tired even though we get 8 hrs of sleep and only do a 30-60min of exercise everyday! I think about how I used to workout 4-5hrs and sleep for less than 8 and I never was as tired haha but it's just different work:) I love it so much though wouldn't wanna be doing anything else!! I really loved your letters and emails about choosing to be happy and I love that acronym for fear I will remember that and share it!! Face Everything And Rise!

Grapevine Lake - This is where we run to almost everyday
Ok for Zach's satisfaction I will try to tell more stories, to be honest I just get too lazy to type it all haha but I have thousands of stories, awesome ones and funny ones!!:) On Monday we went bowling with our zone I won booya my score was 148 that's good for me, I know that's not very good so that's embarrassing I beat everyone haha!! It was fun though!! So Tuesday a day full of stories!! We were knocking on some doors and on the third we meet this guy named George we start talking about his religious background and he says when he was a teenager he went to a Baptist church with some friends for a few years he really enjoyed the activities. So first thought is to tell him about the ysa ward (he's 27) so we say there are tons of fun activities at our church for people just your age!! He seemed to really like that! So he said a friend a few years ago gave him a Book of Mormon but he didn't really know what it was so he never read it, so we explained what it was and shared with him about 3 Nephi 11 how Christ came to visit the America's and he says, "I believe that! I believe that he would come here!" we were like yeahhh he totally would so we talk more about it and say we know that when you read and pray you can know that it is the word of God and that as you learn more you'll want to make covenants with God and be baptized, he says I was baptized when I went to church, so we talked about the priesthood and the restoration and invited him to be baptized and he said yes!!!! He said it all made sense!!! Never had that one happen before:) We called the ysa missionaries pronto and hope to get updated on what's new with him!! I wish we could teach him:) But it was just the neatest experience and just confirmed again to me this is true!! I already new that, but it's true and God is preparing His children we just need to find those who are prepared at this time:) like it says in Alma 26:7 But behold, they are in the hands of the Lord of the harvest,and they are his; and he will raise them up at the last day. That's my favorite scripture for last week:)

Next story is about Sister W, you'll like this one Zach, so this is a less active lady she's a little crazy. She's in her 60's, her husband is less active and really lazy she always complains about him and she has 2 sons in their 30's and they are all bipolar but we saw her on Tuesday too and we were talking about the temple and how that is why we come to see her because she kept asking why do you still come to my house the sisters have been coming for months and we told her it was because we wanted her to go to the temple that is why we come to help her get there because it will bless her and is so important and then I don't know how she started talking about her sons but she did. So she says she has one good son and one bad son and how the bad son when he's mad at her says I can't wait until you die of cancer (she's had cancer 2x) but she says it doesn't phase her and that when he's really mad he'll say with clenched teeth I'm going to break your legs in half, you'd have to see her because her eyes get huge and then she's laughing about all of this! So we are dying laughing too even though I felt bad! Then she says and my good son threw a knife at me once but he missed haha, so we couldn't stop laughing and she just goes on and on!! Anywho her "bad" son is living with her right now and she has to hide everything from him because he always steals from her and he pulled up during our lesson and she says oh no there he is, hopefully he doesn't come in with a wrench!!! I couldn't even take it anymore every time sister benson and I talk about it we cry!! Don't know if that will be funny to y'all since you weren't there, but trying to share my stories:)

So I sent you the story of Bill and Sophie:) so neat!! The only problem is that they don't seem to make the connection that if the BoM is true everything else is!!!!!!!! But it's all good, not ever have we taught someone who already has a testimony of the BoM before we teach:) We will see them this week!! They are so sweet! They call us mortal angels:)

Wednesday we helped sister pratt with the transfer breakfast for all the new missionaries there are 11 that came in.  They are so cute it made me want to be a trainer again I loved doing that:) And I saw sister tuna there!! oh and the best news ever is that the Nielsons are staying at the pratts this Wednesday night after a senior couples dinner!!! Literally cannot wait!!!!!!!

Wes came to church yesterday again:) So testimony meeting started and it was great 3 people shared their testimony about Joseph Smith and that is just what Wes needed and our recent convert!! But then things went a little haywire a lady who is recently divorced got up and was crying saying how divorce is bad and not of God and it was really awkward and Wes is divorced.... we were gonna have a panic attack!! But after when we talked with him he didn't say anything about it.... sometimes church is stressful with investigators there haha but wes talked about Alma 32 how we don't need signs to know the truth that's where faith comes in!! Yayyy that is exactly why we wanted him to read that chapter!!! I love the Book of Mormon it is so amazing!! So powerful!!

I hope this email meets all of your needs hahah let me know what else I need to say:)

Love y'all!!! Hurrah for Israel!!
